Old School Takes Game 1 of Quarterfinal Series with 9–4 Victory

August 4, 2026 – CPSL Quarterfinals (Game 1)

vs. Make It A Double | Chelsea Park

Old School Softball Club opened the CPSL Quarterfinals in impressive fashion, defeating Make It A Double 9–4 in Game 1 of the best-of-three series on Tuesday at Chelsea Park.

Old School wasted no time taking control, erupting for six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the first inning. Barry Weisselberg delivered the biggest hit of the rally, ripping a two-run triple that helped put the game out of reach early.

The offense added another run in the second inning when Jake Ingmar drove in a run on a fielder's choice, and the team continued to apply pressure throughout the game.

Old School finished with 14 hits in a balanced offensive effort. Anthony Rodriguez set the tone by going a perfect 3-for-3, while Ingmar, Rodriguez and Weisselberg each drove in two runs.

Joe Torres was outstanding on the mound, keeping Make It A Double off balance all evening with his trademark knuckleball. Torres scattered just six hits, controlled the pace of the game from start to finish, and earned the victory as Old School moved one win away from advancing.

Game 2 followed immediately afterward as Old School looked to complete the series sweep and punch its ticket to the semifinals.
